How do I put in the aerobic quality of my out of boat run on Sunday?
There are two ways to put data into the workouts system:
1. Quick and dirty - go to the 'This Week's Stats' page, click a number, and enter a number into the appropriate cell. This method is quick but does not allow you to enter things like the aerobic quality and the boat class (it just uses your default boat class and 'Medium' for aerobic level. It also doesn't allow you to enter the duration of a lactic workout that you were actually lactic.
2. The less quick but more thorough method is to click the icon in the lower right corner of a cell on the 'This Week's Stats' page. You can also use the 'Activity List' option on the 'Workout' menu. Under 'Create a new workout', select a workout type and hit the 'New Workout' button. Now you will be prompted for the details of the new workout.
Sometimes my weight lifting workouts take longer than at other times depending on how many people are in the gym, how much rest I take between excercises etc. What should I log when I do out of boat excercise?
In order to be consistent, we log only the time spent actively doing the exercise. We do not log time spent resting, spotting, waiting for apparatus, warming up, cooling down and stretching etc.
Is there a place to log nordic and alpine skiing? How about bicycling? Would hiking be a low aerobic slow run? I don't actually lift many weights, but I do regular core strength exercises and stretching; where should I log that?
You can log out of boat aerobic activities like Nordic skiing, riding and strenuous hiking that produces a sustained heart rate of at least 135 beats per secondas as 'Out of Boat' 'Runs'. Log core strength excercise under 'Weights'. We are not currently incuding stretching in the PaddleTools.com Winter Paddling Challenge.
I have been logging my training on paper and would like to enter workouts from pprevious weeks and months. How do I do that?
We have added this feature to the Workouts Menu. Follow one of the links on the Workouts Menu for 'Add a Workout Last Week' or 'Add a Workout Last Month.'
I have been putting my workouts in on the PaddleTools.com Winter Paddling Challenge but my name doesn't show up on the leaderboards. What's up with that?
The leader boards are broken out by boat class. Check your profile to make sure that your preferred boat class is set properly. Chances are, your workouts are being tagged with the wrong boat class.
When do the contest results get published?
We will publish the contest results one week after the end of the month.
